Meetings and calls

Screen share and whiteboard

Share a screen, window or tab, use laser pointers, and draw together on a whiteboard.

Share your screen

#
  1. Choose Share in the call bar.
  2. In your browser's picker, choose a whole screen, a window or a tab, then Share.
  3. Everyone sees it large. Choose Stop sharing in the banner when you are done.

While you present, your status shows Presenting and chat pop-ups pause. The banner has Show pointers (show others' laser pointers on your share) and Open in new window.

You can't share while on hold. Starting a screen share replaces a whiteboard on stage, and starting a whiteboard stops screen shares. Guests can share only on paid plans.

Watch a screen share

#

The banner says "{name} is presenting". Choose Open in new window to watch it in its own window; the call then says Showing in another window with Bring back. If your browser blocks the window, allow pop-ups and choose Try again.

Laser pointers

#

While someone presents, choose Laser pointer or press L: your mouse shows on the share as a dot with your first name, and fades when you stop moving. The presenter sees pointers when Show pointers is on. Hosts can turn pointers off for everyone with Allow laser pointers in More.

Start a whiteboard

#

Choose Whiteboard in the call bar, pick who can draw, and choose Start whiteboard.

  • Everyone can draw (the default).
  • Only people I choose: tick people. Hosts can always draw.
  • Only me: others watch.

The whiteboard has shapes, arrows, lines, freehand, text and frames. Images and embeds aren't shared. People who can't draw see View only and can choose Ask to draw; the presenter and hosts get a pop-up with Allow. Change access any time from Drawing access.

Save a whiteboard

#

Choose Save as image, then Download PNG to save it, or Post to chat to put it in the meeting chat (members only, within your plan's upload limit).

The drawing is also kept with the call: open View summary on the past meeting to see it, open it read-only, or download it. It is kept as long as your plan keeps chat history.
