Welcome to CheapMeet
Video meetings, calls and team chat in your browser, for a fraction of the usual price. Here is how it fits together.
What CheapMeet does
#CheapMeet gives your team three things in one place: meetings you start now or schedule for later, calls that ring people directly, and chat for direct messages and group conversations. Everything runs in the browser. You can also install CheapMeet for its own app window, and guests can join a meeting from a link without an account.
CheapMeet works best on a laptop or desktop with a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. On a phone you can join meetings and calls and use your calendar in Safari or Chrome; the rest of the app (Chat, Activity, Settings and so on) isn't currently supported on mobile.
Install CheapMeet
#In Chrome or Edge on a desktop, open CheapMeet and choose the install option in the address bar or browser menu. CheapMeet opens in its own window, and on Windows you can find it in the Start menu.
You can keep using CheapMeet in a browser tab. Firefox supports desktop notifications even where it does not offer an install option.
CheapMeet needs an internet connection, including when installed. Updates arrive automatically when you open or reload the app.
To receive alerts when no CheapMeet window is open, allow Desktop notifications on each device you use.
How it is organized
#Everything happens inside a workspace: your team's space with its own members, meetings, chats, settings and plan. You can belong to several workspaces and switch between them from the header.
- Members have a role: Owner, Admin, Member or Guest. Roles decide who can invite people, change settings and pay. See Roles and permissions.
- Meetings have a link anyone can open. Hosts decide who gets in. See Meetings.
- Chat keeps direct messages and groups next to your meetings. See Chat basics.
- Plans set the limits: how many people per meeting, how long meetings run and how many minutes the workspace can use. See Plans and limits.
