Business Phone calls and settings
Use an assigned number, forward unanswered calls to a verified phone, and set the main number’s recipients and business hours.
Before you start
#These instructions are for workspaces with Business Phone already enabled. Phone products are a planning preview, not generally on sale yet. Your workspace owner or admin assigns your number and enables phone access; members cannot request a number in the app. See Assign a phone number.
Before making telephone calls, check your 911 address. Keep another way to reach emergency services.
Make and receive telephone calls
#Open Calls. If you have an assigned number, use its dial pad to enter a supported number and call it. Recent calls also has Call back. Destination and workspace limits can prevent a call; use the message shown to decide what to do next.
During a telephone call, use Mute or Unmute, Keypad to send digits to a phone menu, and Hang up to end it. Incoming calls ring in CheapMeet while browser calling is available; an unanswered call follows your voicemail and forwarding settings.
Telephone voicemail and App voicemail have separate inboxes on Calls. See Voicemail for playback, notifications and retention.
Forward unanswered calls to your phone
#Forwarding appears only when your workspace allows it and you have an assigned number. Open Settings → Calling, then find Forward to my phone under When you don’t answer.
- Enter your phone number and choose Verify. CheapMeet calls that phone with a verification code.
- Answer, enter the code you hear in Verification code, and choose Confirm. If you missed the call, choose Call again.
- After verification, unanswered calls ring that phone first and then go to voicemail if Take a voicemail is on. Choose Turn off beside the verified number to stop forwarding.
Forwarded calls count as outgoing phone usage. Workspace owners and admins allow forwarding with People can forward calls to their own phone in Workspace settings → Phone.
Choose who answers the main number
#Workspace owners and admins open Workspace settings → Phone. If the workspace has a main number, its Main number card lists phone users under Who answers. Select up to 10 people and choose Save main number. The number rings those people together.
If nobody answers, or a call arrives outside business hours, the caller can leave voicemail when it is enabled. The recipients and workspace owners/admins share its voicemail inbox.
Set main-number business hours
#In the Main number card, turn on Business hours, set Time zone, select the days you are open, and enter each day’s opening and closing time. Choose Save main number. With Business hours off, the number is always open.
Set Greeting when nobody answers and Greeting after hours below it; each greeting uses its own Save greeting button. See Custom greeting.
